Warning - A Politcal Rant

I'm sorry, but something needs to be done about the political structure of this government.

Politicians spend so much damn time fighting across the isle instead of coming up with solutions that no matter whether you're red or blue, we've wasted an entire year accomplishing nothing. By digging in their heels and not offering an alternative solution, they are wasting taxpayer money by having a government that isn't doing ANYTHING. I'm a democrat, but can say with confidence, that if a republican was president, then the democrats would be doing everything in their power to put a stop to every bill that president wanted passed. Has there ever been a time that instead of just nay saying, someone would offer up an alternative or a better plan, or heaven forbid make some concessions and, say it with me everyone, com-pro-mise?

This us against them, across the isle nonsense is only favoring their political agenda (both the D's and the R's) so that come election time they can boast "I stood up to the health bill" or "I supported the president in healthcare reform". Meanwhile, they are stringing their constituants along and sucking us inot their childish battle for majority and authority. Now not just polititians, but civillians argue petulantly with each other, further dividing the nation. The greater part of these people do not even know what the health care bill really means except for what Obama or Glen Beck tell them it means. Of course these opinions couldn't be more different and I'm sure somewhere in the middle the truth is treading water.

I honestly do no know if a public option of healthcare would work in this country or not, but my god just try it out and move on to something else. This country is in pretty bad shape and spending this amount of time on just one aspect of potential recovery is irresponsible. If the bill works out, great! If it doesn't, then Obama and the lawmakers screwed up and they're gone. It could not be worse than allowing our elected officials to sit on Capitol Hill and collect a paycheck for doing what amounts to be the political version of playing Farmville all day.
